Why is preventive conservation so important?

The Museu Picasso welcomes the International Workshop "Preventive Conservation Platform HERIe"

Over the course of two days, the Museu Picasso, together with the Universitat Politècnica de València and in collaboration with the GoGreen consortium, brought together professionals and students to explore new digital tools for preventive conservation of cultural heritage. The workshop provided an opportunity to examine the potential of the HERIe platform and to address key challenges facing museums, including environmental monitoring, the impact of light, material degradation, fire risk and showcase design. In this video, Łukasz Bratasz reflects on the current challenges of preventive conservation, the role of technology, and the importance of sustainability in safeguarding cultural heritage.
