The letter as a tool for graphic creation

As with other elements of popular culture, the graphic arts underwent a major revolution during the second decade of the twentieth century; the cubist artists explored language as a live element, both in terms of its meaning and its significance, and they incorporated typographic elements into their works.

In this workshop, led by the graphic designer Jordi Duró, the aim is to explore the evolution of the graphic design based on these artistic uses; the use of geometric forms; the signage and personal brushstrokes as an expressive tool; and collage in graphic design. In each session a different theoretical aspect will be explored and a plastic exercise will be proposed that will make them carry out a reflection, which will then be analysed in groups in the following session.
