Putting Picasso to music

Young composers inspired by Picasso's works

First performances of the compositions by students of Composition from the Conservatori Superior del Liceu, created based on the works of the collection of the Museu Picasso.

In this fifth edition, the two organisations have worked together in a collaboration which promotes the creation of new musical pieces based on the works of Pablo Picasso. Through an exploration of the works Las Meninas (1957), Finestra amb cortina des de l’interior and Balcó tancat (1899), Dona amb mantellina [Fatma] (1917) and Pintor treballant (1964), the young composers musically express their emotions and narratives that these have generated, and provide new interpretations to the work of Picasso, renewing in this way its artistic validity.

We propose two ways of listening to these new musical creations:

-Musical visit to the rooms of the collection: two sessions, at 7.00pm and at 7.45pm

In these visits we will listen to the compositions in front of the works that inspired them
