Exhibition of Books with Original Etchings by Picasso

An exhibition of books illustrated with original designs by Picasso that reveals another of the artist's lines of work, one that is certainly less well known.

To celebrate Pablo Picasso's 91st birthday, the Museu Picasso in Barcelona presents an exhibition of books illustrated with original etchings, lithographs and linocuts, some from its permanent collection and others from private collectors in Barcelona who have kindly loaned them for the occasion.

The show, which isn't conceived as an exhaustive survey of Picasso's book illustrations but simply as a glimpse into this less well-known aspect of his work, is divided into two distinct sections: bibliophile books in limited editions, and books of wide circulation, chiefly exhibition catalogues.
