Picasso Ceramics. Jaqueline's Gift to Barcelona
2012
This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of the donation that Jacqueline Picasso made to the museum of forty-one pieces of ceramic. So as to celebrate this important milestone in the history of the collection, an exhibition has been held that exhibits the pieces together for the first time in many years.
The catalogue reproduces each of the pieces of the donation and provides a detailed description, which has been produced by recognised experts in Picassian ceramics, Marilyn McCully and Michael Raeburn. Thanks to their work, the readers will now be able to have updated and exhaustive information.
The book contains an article by Margarida Cortadella, who responds to some of the questions surrounding the donation: who, when and why were these pieces, that ended up together, chosen.
