Organizers: Museu Picasso and Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya
The conference is organized around the exhibition Picasso Romanesque, which can be seen at the National Museum until 26 February 2017, and explains the link between Picasso and the Catalan Romanesque art, trying to grasp the possible affinities.
9:30 to 10am. Welcome and introduction by Emmanuel Guigon, Director of the Museu Picasso in Barcelona
10 am to 10:45 pm About Picasso and bohemian, barbaric and medieval art by Juan José Lahuerta (curator of the exhibition)
10:45 to 11:30 What Picasso did see. Figures cluttered with eyes and eyes displaced, by Victoria Cirlot
11:30 am to 12 pm Break
12 to 12:45h Reality and remains of picassian Middle Age, by Eduard Vallès, curator of modern and contemporary art at the National Museum
12:45 to 13:30 The modernity of Romanesque Art, by Daniel Rico, Professor of Art History at the UAB
13.30 to 14.30 Round table and debate. Moderated by Juan José Lahuerta
