Albert Gleizes. Cubism in Majesty
This show presents a survey of the career of Albert Gleizes, from his early works made around 1900 to the last works made in the early fifties.
The exhibition reviews the pictorial and graphic production of an artist who, after having published Du 'Cubisme' in collaboration with Jean Metzinger in 1912, has been considered a mere theoretician of Cubism. In chronological order, a series of paintings, drawings and prints kept in museums and private collections around the world offer a global view of Albert Gleize's artistic trajectory, from his production at the turn of the century to the last stages of his career in the nineteen-fifties.
