Picasso: Photographer of Horta. Snapshots of Cubism. 1909
Imagen de EX0048
A small-scale exhibition of photographs taken by Picasso during the summer of 1909 in Horta de Sant Joan.
Less well known than Picasso's Cubist oil paintings are the photographs he took in the summer of 1909 in Horta de Sant Joan, and which now form a part of the photographic collection in the Musée Picasso in Paris. The importance of the works on display in this show is twofold: on a local scale, they are views of a Catalan village captured a century ago, and on a universal scale, the pictures of Horta de Sant Joan are thought to be the earliest of those the artist took with a camera.
