Guide to the Collection Museu Picasso Barcelona

2026

The new guide to the Museu Picasso Barcelona collection is conceived to accompany visitors in discovering the renewed presentation of the collection in the museum’s galleries, offering a broad, rigorous, yet engaging reading of the works that make up the permanent collection. Designed as an educational tool to explore Picasso’s relationship with Barcelona and the evolution of his career, the publication combines three types of content: general texts introducing each thematic section of the visit; focus sections that bring readers closer to particularly revealing documents, correspondence, and archival materials; and technical contributions that help to better understand the processes of conservation, restoration, and research related to the works. Each section highlights between five and ten significant pieces, commented on by the museum’s own team. The result is a comprehensive and carefully produced volume, available in four languages and designed by rundesign, covering from Picasso’s early formative years to key moments of his creative maturity, including the world of Las Meninas.
