Produced on the occasion of the documentary exhibition "Picasso 1936. Traces of an exhibition", organised by the Museu Picasso in 2011, the ontology "Picasso Exhibition 1936" has been constructed to conceptualise the significance of the exhibition of works by Picasso that could be seen in 1936, and of understanding the artist's relationship with Barcelona and Spain. This ontology - halfway between archival science, the semantic web and data visualisation - has been based on experimentation and implementing new ways of formalising and structuring information and documentation, allowing us to re-enact the 1936 event and, ultimately, to generate and share new knowledge about Picasso.
