Access and visit regulations

To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone and the proper conservation of the spaces, we kindly ask that you follow these instructions during your visit.

Access regulations

Admission tickets and access

  • To access the Museum you need an admission ticket, which you must show to the access control staff. Keep it throughout your visit. The ticket is personal and cannot be transferred.
  • It is valid only for the day and time indicated.
  • You can buy your ticket up to 30 minutes prior to closing time.
  • Once you have entered, you cannot exit and access again with the same admission ticket.
  • Tickets cannot be exchanged or returned.
  • If you are entitled to free or reduced admission, you must present the corresponding accreditation. Otherwise, the full amount must be paid.
  • Always purchase tickets through official channels: the website museupicassobcn.cat, the Museum's ticket offices or vending machines. Tickets purchased from third parties, other websites or resellers are not accepted.
  • In the event of a specific closure of a room, you will be informed, but no refunds will be made.

General visit regulations

Behaviour in the rooms

  • Respect the works and the other visitors.
  • Do not run or shout inside the Museum.
  • Don't sit on the floor if it blocks people's path.
  • Follow the instructions of the staff at all times.

Protection of the works

  • Do not touch the works and maintain the indicated safety distance.
  • Do not point at the pieces with objects such as pencils, pens, walking sticks or umbrellas.

Photography and recordings

  • Taking photographs for personal use, without flash, is permitted.
  • The use of tripods, selfie sticks or professional equipment is not permitted without prior authorisation.
  • You may not photograph or record other people or staff without their consent.
  • No commercial or advertising use is allowed without authorisation.
  • For professional or media uses, please contact the Press Department in advance.

Sketching in the rooms

  • Sketching or making copies of the works is permitted only with dry techniques, such as pencil, and never with ink, oil or watercolour. Sketchbooks may not exceed 21 × 28 cm. The use of easels or any other type of support is not allowed. When there is a large number of visitors in the rooms, security staff may restrict this activity.

Objects and cloakroom

  • You cannot enter the rooms with backpacks, bags or suitcases larger than 30×30×25 cm.
  • Larger objects must be left in the cloakroom (maximum 56×45×25 cm).
  • The cloakroom service is free with admission to the Museum.
  • All items must be collected before closing time.
  • The Museum is not responsible for the objects deposited.
  • Access is not allowed with:
    • arms or dangerous objects
    • selfie sticks, tripods or professional equipment
    • non-folding umbrellas
    • glass containers
    • laser projectors
    • backpacks carrying babies on the back
    • folding chairs (except for justified needs)
    • balls, flashlights or similar objects
    • any object that staff consider a risk

Food, drink and substances

  • No food or drinks are allowed.
  • Smoking is not permitted in any area of the Museum, including electronic cigarettes.

Access with animals

  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Accredited guide and assistance dogs are allowed.

Mobility and accessibility

  • You must wear suitable footwear to walk around the Museum.
  • Access with bicycles, scooters or other personal mobility vehicles is not allowed.
  • People with reduced mobility have preferential access, as well as their companion.

Minors

  • Children under 14 must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Clothing

  • Appropriate clothing must be worn.
  • It is not permitted to enter the Museum naked or partially naked.

Security

  • The Museum has video surveillance systems. You must be identifiable at all times.
  • In case of emergency, follow the instructions of the staff.
  • The Museum has a defibrillator; if necessary, please contact the staff.

Activities not allowed

  • Political, religious, commercial or advertising activities are not permitted without authorisation.

Final information

  • The Museum reserves the right of admission.
  • Failure to comply with these regulations may result in expulsion from the venue.
