Presentation Exhibition Chronicle of the exhibition Artworks of the Collection Catalogue

The first exhibition dedicated to the theme of landscape in Picasso's painting shows works spanning the years 1890 to 1912. Despite being a genre he would scarcely cultivate, landscape often appears as an academic exercise during the artist's apprenticeship.

Landscape doesn't abound in the oeuvre of Pablo Picasso, although it did appear as an exercise during his academic training, as we see in this exhibition, the first to be organised on the subject. Thanks to these academic assignments, the artist perfected his abilities and decided to explore new forms of plastic expression that would soon lead him to avant-garde practices.

The show follows a chronological order and is divided into thematic areas that define the evolution of Picasso's landscape technique between 1890 and 1912.
