Information

Cubism and war through its artists

Given by renowned historians, we will take an in-depth look at this exhibition, which explores the survival of the European artistic avant-garde established in Paris during the First World War (1914-1918).

The first session proposes a conversation between the curator and one of the collaborators of the catalogue, and the other sessions focus on some of their main artists, all of them foreign residents in France, who for this same condition were unable to participate in the military campaign: Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris and María Blanchard.

Specialists in their work allow us to approach these particular figures and to their specific response to the distress, pain and danger that this major conflict signified.
